Threadbound

Privacy Policy

Threadbound ("we", "us") is a Slack app that turns emoji-flagged threads into structured documents in Notion. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and — since we know this matters — exactly what we don't keep.

Information we collect

From Slack

When you install Threadbound, Slack gives us a bot access token for your workspace, your team ID, and the ID of the user who installed it. We also store the trigger emoji and channel allowlist you configure. When someone reacts to a message with your trigger emoji, we read the content of that specific thread (message text and the Slack user IDs of participants) — we never read messages outside of a thread someone has explicitly reacted to.

From Notion

When you connect Notion, we receive an access token scoped to the pages/databases you choose to share with our integration, and we store which database you select as the publish destination.

Account information

To sign in to the Threadbound dashboard, we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider (Supabase Auth) — we never see or store your password in plain text.

Billing information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, we store your Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, and subscription status. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's own checkout page — we never receive or store your card number.

How we use this information

Thread content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a structured summary, and the resulting document is sent to your chosen Notion database via Notion's API. That's the entire purpose for which thread content is processed. Per Anthropic's commercial API terms, this data is not used to train Anthropic's models. We do not use your data to train any AI model, ours or a third party's.

What we don't keep

This is the part we want to be explicit about: the raw Slack message content of a captured thread, and the AI-generated document text, are never written to our database. They exist only in memory for the few seconds it takes to process a single request, and are discarded immediately after — whether that request succeeds or fails. The Notion page we create is the durable copy; we don't keep a second one.

What we do keep, so your dashboard can show a history of past activity: the channel and thread identifiers, a short title derived from the generated document (e.g. "Prod DB latency spike"), the publish status, and a link to the resulting Notion page.

Data retention

  • Account, billing, and workspace-connection data (Slack/Notion access tokens) are retained for as long as your account is active.
  • Thread-processing metadata (title, status, Notion link) is retained for as long as your account is active. Raw thread content is never retained at all, as above.
  • If you uninstall Threadbound from Slack or disconnect Notion, we stop using the associated access token and delete it. If you delete your account, we delete your account, workspace-connection, and billing records, subject to what we're legally required to retain (e.g. tax records for completed payments).

Who we share data with

We use the following third-party services to operate Threadbound. Each processes only the data necessary for its role:

  • Slack — source of thread content and workspace configuration.
  • Anthropic (Claude) — processes thread content to generate the structured document. Not used for model training.
  • Notion — destination for the generated document.
  • Supabase — hosts our database and handles account authentication.
  • Stripe — processes payments and stores billing/card details; we never see your card number.
  • Vercel — hosts the Threadbound application.

We do not sell your data to anyone.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated data. Email support@thread-bound.com and we'll respond within 2 business days.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
